PEAK—Personalized Educational Advancements for Kids—was founded by Lisa Owen, M.Ed., a mom of four and certified elementary and special education teacher with a Master’s in Literacy and Language. As a local parent and educator in our community, Lisa understands the desire to advocate for your child’s needs and the challenges that can come with navigating educational red tape. Our team’s first-hand knowledge about educational systems and resources enable us to provide top-notch, individualized support to you and your child.

The first time one of my children used a PEAK service was over the summer 2023 when Lisa offered a Writer’s Workshop for young kids. My daughter is an avid reader and I thought this would be a great opportunity for her to further develop her writing skills. Not only did this workshop help my daughter learn how to get the ideas in her head on paper, but it taught her how to organize those ideas into a story. She enjoyed it so much that she looked forward to it every week and couldn’t wait to attend it again this past summer. I have leaned on PEAK for my son as well and used one of their tutors, Caitlyn, for him. It was amazing how much he improved with her help. Lisa and her team truly give you 100% when they are with your child and are there to answer questions and support you throughout the year.

School is a huge priority for our family, but with four kids we are fairly careful about how many extracurricular activities we pay for. I was looking for something intellectual that would be a bridge activity for my rising 5th, 4th and 2nd graders and couldn’t seem to find something that combined learning and sharpening skills with friendship and summer fun. PEAK delivered all of these experiences and more. When we got back to school, the proof was in the pudding during the first few weeks. We have gotten comments from my struggling writer’s teacher, like “her writing is incredible!,” a 100% on a social studies test due to her organized responses, and a private Seesaw message saying my son was well above level in what he could write. So much of this came from the practice and confidence they gained over the summer. My kids still talk to their writer's club pals and we see “Miss Lisa” often. We are so grateful for the magic learning and friends recipe PEAK delivers and hope to see them expand to more clubs. Science? Math? Our family will absolutely be there.
